Difficulties at Sachsenring
So the qualifying session was a strange, red-flag interrupted and difficult one. I was pretty quick during the first part of the session but when all drivers came back in to change two tires I couldn’t improve whereas the a lot of drivers did. I just couldn’t manage to string the lap together and qualified 20th.. This means there is work to be done tomorrow with my black-and-blue Jenzer Motorsport F4.
My difficult weekend at the Sachenring continues for the moment with 20th in the first race of the weekend. I had a good start and was able to fight back a little bit from my lowly grid position but it became a bit of a jojo-race with me closing in only to drop back again. I had good pace in the Jenzer Motorsport car but I just couldn’t utilize it today. We’ll have to do better tomorrow and we will.
So this is turning out to be quite a horrible weekend. I had a reasonable start and was looking to attack and make up ground when the safety-car came out on track following an incident in the opening lap. At the restart I tried to go outside but wasn’t spotted by the other driver who also tried to go outside, we touched and I ended up in the gravel trap. Horrible day… let’s hope for better in race 3.
So my weekend turned from bad to disastrous with another DNF in race 3. It’s difficult to put under words my disappointment because we had so much potential in the #77 Jenzer Motorsport car. We will bounce back but for now Sachsenring was a weekend to utterly forget. Together with my team I’ll work just that much harder to make it work for the next race.
