Weekend at Oschersleben

Qualifying

A good start for myself and Jenzer Motorsport in the ADAC F4 championship after qualifying P3 in Group B and P6 overall. I need to find a bit more speed to fight for the podium tomorrow but all in all happy with my best qualifying effort in the German F4 series ever. Big thanks to my family, sponsors and ofcourse the Jenzer Motorsport team who had to work really hard to get me on track after an off during free practice 1.

Race 1

My first ADAC F4 race of the season is really a tale of two races. I had a good start and was fighting for P4 and P5 but in the tricky wet conditions I went off and had to try and come back on the track via the wet grass. Not great, especially since I rejoined the race in 17th position. After that I found my rhythm and my pace and started to move forward. Lap after lap I moved up with my Jenzer Motorsport including a great pass where I overtook two cars in one go. I definitely enjoyed myself but it’s just a shame about the huge spin. Still my blue-and-black Tatuus was mega in the wet conditions, I have my first ADAC F4 points in the bag and I look forward to the two races tomorrow.

Race 2

After only setting one quick lap in qualifying I had to start 18th for race 2 (second lap time counts) and in dry conditions this as always going to be a difficult race to gain points from. After starting from behind the safety-car the race was interrupted by a red flag and another safetycar situation! This means we had precious little time to make up ground but when we did get to race each other the Jenzer car felt really good and I was able to move up a few spots.

Race 3

So race three definitely yielded less than I hoped. A good start kept me in the hunt for a podium position and I was happy to see where we were in terms of speed on a dry track. I couldn’t fight with Schumacher and Mawson but they were not far away. Unfortunately I made contact with a fellow competitor in the final moments of the race as we battled for third. Leaving me stranded with a damaged car and no points. A big shame as we definately had pace. My apologies to the Jenzer team who gave me a great car to fight with. Next time I’ll repay your hard work! Big thanks to my family, sponsors, friends and the whole Jenzer Motorsport team.
